Causes of blood coughing up and first aid methods
Dog coughing up blood refers to bleeding from the throat, trachea, bronchial or lung parenchyma, which is coughed up with coughing. Usually, there is itching or irritating in the throat first, and then cough up blood and mix with phlegm, containing small bubbles.
1. Causes of canine coughing up blood: 1. Lung diseases in dogs. For example, tuberculosis and lung abscess are the most common, followed by pneumonia, lung tumors or lung trauma (puncture wounds, rib fractures). 2. Bronchial disease. Bronchodilator cough is the most common, followed by bronchitis and bronchial foreign body. 3. Cardiovascular disease. Such as left heart failure, pulmonary edema, etc. 4. Blood diseases. Such as purpura, aplastic anemia, hemophilia, etc. 2. First aid for dogs to cough up blood: 1. Stop exercise and training to allow dogs to rest.
2. For dogs with irritability but no respiratory dysfunction and extremely weak constitution, appropriate sedation can be given, 1~2 mg of chlorpromazine/kg of body weight intramuscularly; or 5~10 mg of diazepam orally.
3. For dogs with severe cough, medications are given to coughs, but morphine and other drugs that inhibit breathing are prohibited. 4. Choose appropriate hemostatic drugs according to different causes and conditions of the dog: hemostatic sensitivity, 2~4 ml, intramuscular or intravenous injection; vitamin K3, 10~30 mg, intramuscular injection. 5. Send the hospital to treat the primary disease in a timely manner.
