In the health level of dogs, the ears are also very critical. If they are not cleaned, they will cause diseases to the dog and endanger their daily lives. The key situation that is likely to encounter in dogs’ ears is earwax and ear mites. How to distinguish earwax and ear mites of dogs?

The normal earwax of dogs is generally light yellow, and ear mites will produce black or reddish brown secretions and emit a foul smell.

Earwax is formed by accumulation of dust, so it is easy to be crushed. For ear mites, dirt is not easy to be crushed, like oily dirt.

If the dog keeps scratching or shaking its head, accompanied by waves of odor, it is basically ear mites. Generally speaking, the naked eye cannot identify ear mites through ear canal secretions. It is recommended to take the dog to a pet hospital for ear canal secretions examination to confirm whether there are ear mites or ear mites eggs.

If the secretions contain ear mites and eggs, they need to be treated in time.
