Carragher complained about the powerful throw-in tactic: It feels like every team is using it, this number is simply a record-breaking number
Liverpool legend Carragher talked about his views on the proliferation of powerful throw-in tactics in the Premier League this season.
What do you think of Brentford's use of the powerful throw-in tactic?
Carragher: If you think about the success their current manager has had with powering throw-ins, we highlighted that before the game. My take on the power throw-in is that I understand that teams that are in the bottom half or fighting for relegation will use the power throw-in because they may not be strong enough to get the ball into the box and you have to get into the box to have a chance to score.
You seem dissatisfied with the popularity of this tactic?
Carragher: And, in the past, I actually wanted to see how strong throw-ins would be against top teams, how Liverpool and Manchester City would respond, and see how they would handle it. But what I find frustrating is that I feel like every team has used power throw-ins at some point this season. This number is simply record-breaking.
Background data
