According to ESPN, Chelsea is accelerating its pursuit of RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simmons, who priced it for more than 60 million euros.

Chelsea has not reached an agreement with Simmons on personal terms. The Dutch midfielder has also received attention from Arsenal and Tottenham in the past. It is not clear whether the two London clubs will rejoin the competition. German reports also said that Bayern Munich is also paying close attention to the developments.

Simmons, 22, is open to joining the Premier League team, and is willing to sell it even though Leipzig just officially bought it from Paris Saint-Germain for an initial fee of €50 million in January. Simmons previously played on loan at Leipzig for 18 months and did not complete a permanent transfer until the beginning of this year.
