Gerard was interviewed a few days ago and said he did not need to own a statue outside Anfield Stadium to feel Liverpool's love for him.

There are statues of legendary coaches Bill Shankley and Bob Paisley outside Anfield, but no Liverpool player has ever had this honor, whether it is Gerald or Darglish.

Gerard was indifferent to this, and he said on a visit to Leo Ferdinand's podcast: "The club has respect for me enough, and I think the club has done extraordinary things for me."

"If you know what that club did for me, not during my career, but from the moment I was no longer a Liverpool player. If you know the respect that club gave me, you will be shocked, it will really shock you."

"I got calls from the top, they were for me and my home. What people do, the invitations, the care, and the respect I get from the club as a former player, really shocks you. "

"I don't need a statue to feel the love of Liverpool, it's enough, it's always enough. Since the day I retired, my respect for Liverpool has only become stronger, deeper and more affectionate."

"Because in my original imagination, I thought I would fade out, but Liverpool gave me more love, care and respect after I stopped playing for them."
