Youth Training Coach: When Werz was a child, he said that he would take the golden ball in the future and he would go to the top of the world
Recently, Wiltz's youth training coach Marcus Dawn in Cologne was interviewed by Sky Sports and talked about his story with Wiltz during his youth training.
Dawn: "I first heard this name in Cologne (Wilz), and all the young men from the youth training team were discussing this star player in the U12 age group."
Wilz: "I still have a very close relationship with him now and communicate frequently."
Dawn: "I have some very special moments with him. Once in the last game before the winter break, we were playing against a small club. The conditions started with very bad conditions, the rain was heavy and the wind was strong. The weather was very, very bad. But at the beginning of the game, he hit the ball for the first time and scored from about 70 meters away.
"After that game, we went to dinner, and the guys on the team asked me, 'Mr. Dawn, can we have a beer? ’, I said ‘I don’t know if you can drink it, I’m not allowed to express my opinion. But you can go to another room, as long as I can't see it. ’
"They had two or three beers, and then Wirtz came to me and looked very happy because of that goal, he said, ‘Mr. Dawn, I like you very much.’
"At a meeting on career goals, everyone else on the team said, ‘I’m going to be the German champion this year, ‘I’m going to be the starting list’, only Wirtz said, ‘I’m going to win the Golden Globes in the future. ’”
Wilz: “I said this every day when I was young. ”
Dawn: “Usually, I would say OK, be realistic; but in this case, I said, OK, go your way, you can achieve it. This young man faced great challenges in his life. At a very young age, at the U17 age, he suffered serious injuries and had a fractured leg, but after he returned, he became stronger than before.
"It's all because of his concentration, his mentality. I knew from the beginning that he would go on his own path until the top of the world."
