A cat unique to my country was caught stealing chickens in a village!
Recently, according to media reports, a large number of chickens were bitten to death in a villager's home in Menyuan, Qinghai Province. The villagers called the police and claimed that a cat was responsible. After the police arrived at the scene, they discovered that the perpetrator was a desert cat trapped in a chicken pen and unable to get out. Because of his quick movements and fierce struggle, the staff managed to capture him after several setbacks.

It is understood that the desert cat is the only endemic cat in my country. It lives on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It was originally difficult to see, but its number has been increasing in recent years. In winter, the desert cat's main food, pikas, zokors and other prey, hide underground. It is difficult for the desert cat to catch them, so it has to focus on hares and birds. If they really don't have anything to eat, they will sneak into villagers' homes and steal chickens and ducks to eat.

The desert cat is larger than a domestic cat, has a long tail, slightly longer limbs, and a tuft of short hair at the end of its ears. They are not afraid of harsh climates, and their exact distribution area only includes the alpine meadow areas of China's Tibet, Qinghai, Gansu, and Sichuan. Because of their scarcity and secretive whereabouts, they are known as "one of the most mysterious cats in the world." The desert cat that was caught stealing chickens has been released.
