The British media "Mirror" reported that former West Ham star Benrahma admitted to raising "out-of-control and dangerous dogs" due to an attack two years ago and was fined 12,000 pounds.

Benrahma, 30, admitted two charges at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Thursday and was fined 12,000 pounds. The incident occurred in July 2023, when a golden retriever and its owner were attacked.

It is said that one of Benrahma's XL-shaped American bully dogs (which has been listed as a prohibited breed under the "Dangerous Dogs Act of 1991 since December 2023") lost control and bit Luke Rayburn at his residence. The second charge also relates to Benrahma's American bulldog, which was also involved in the incident.

Rayburn suffered multiple abrasions on his arms and legs when he struggled with the dog on the ground, and his dog required veterinary treatment. The dog escaped through a side door, which was accidentally left open by its staff. Binrahma appeared in court via video link from his car in Saudi Arabia.

District Judge Matt Jabbitt described the incident as "extremely traumatic" for Rayburn. Benrahma was subsequently sentenced to a fine of £5,000 for each attack and ordered to pay Rayburn £2,500 in compensation plus £495 in kennel costs.

Benrahma joined Brentford from Nice in 2018 and moved to West Ham two years later. He scored 24 goals in 155 games for West Ham and won the UEFA Champions League. He moved to Lyon in 2023 and has been playing in the Saudi League since joining New Future City Sports in January this year.

Benrahma often shared photos of his dogs while living in East London. The two dogs were named "Ghost" and "Kali".
