The Records reported that West Ham emphasized on official Twitter that the new coach Nuno is a black man, which caused controversy.

West Ham recently joined the "Black History Month" commemoration event and released a photo of Portuguese coach Nuno on Wednesday. The club official recommended the photo to caption: "Nuno, the first black head coach in West Ham United's history."

No surprise, this dynamic triggered a large-scale response on the Internet. This tweet received more than 800,000 views within three hours. One user questioned: "Should the club really deliberately count the skin color of employees?"

Another user who participated in the discussion said: "To be honest, I didn't pay attention to his skin color at all. I just thought he was the excellent coach we should hire. His attitude towards the fans and his game against Everton were great. There is no need to emphasize skin color, he is our head coach."

There are also comments bluntly: "Accurate an excellent coach like Nuno to the extremely disrespectful skin color. His work, achievements and experience are worth paying attention to. This post is ridiculous!"

Some users condemned: "It is this kind of deliberate emphasis on skin color that encourages racism. If you don't post this post, I won't pay attention to it. Please do better."
